"I was simply attempting to get the keeps running in," Trout said. "We had plenty of good chances, however, we just couldn't drive them in. I got a pitch to hit and hit it out."

"I intended to get it in a bit," Smyly said. "I was endeavoring to go up. It was only somewhat center of the plate. Possibly I made him frantic when I hit him [in the third] and he winds up hitting a terrific hammer. You would prefer not to make him distraught. He's the best hitter on earth. There's no denying it."

Prominently, this homer went ahead a fastball up in the zone, which was a feeble spot for Trout right off the bat in his profession, however, something he's since improved.

"I couldn't reveal to you one thing I'm doing to hit those pitches," Trout said. It was Trout's first fantastic hammer since 2015, and his 29th profession homer against the Rangers, taking him past the A's Khris Davis for most among dynamic players against Texas.
